Dear Sarita,

I am a sannyasin and a disciple of Osho, yet I’ve been drawn to the Roman Catholic Church, in which I grew up, through reports of various visions and apparitions of the Blessed Mother Mary in recent times (Lourdes in the 1850’s, Fatima in 1917, Yugoslavia and Rwanda in the 1980’s) and of Christ (Rwanda in the 1980’s and in Poland to a nun, Saint Maria Faustina, in the 1930’s). These apparitions or visions have been described in books. Since you have realized universal consciousness, perhaps you could say something about these apparitions, most of which involved messages to the world (warnings, calls to repentance, exhortations to pray, etc.) These phenomena are compelling for me, since I grew up Catholic in an Irish Catholic family and environment.

Hello Pathik,

There are beings of light who appear. However, it is the mind who names them; Mary, or Saraswati, or Tara, etc. Actually this is a universal being, and we limit her through our small minds and our small religious beliefs. I have received such visitations myself, but because I was not raised by any religion, I could not name her. I just called her the ‘White Lady.’ She has been guiding me from time to time. Later, I read about the Goddess Tara, and the description fit very well. I also shared this with a few people and there are some people who have seen such visions and also didn’t know how to name her. Others, who are more Christian oriented, name her as Mary.

So what I would say about it is: you must be connected to this universal Mother Goddess, and because of your catholic background, you would like to put her into the Mary box. I am thinking it would be very good for you to read about other forms of the goddess, from various cultures around the world. I believe you will find as your research deepens, that she is one, though called by many names. Allow her to appear to you as she would like, not as your conditioning would make her. I am sure she has a great gift to offer to you, just as she has a great gift to offer this world.
